Q&A

You Ask, We Answer

Do I have to talk to the police and allow them to search myself or my car?

No. You can refuse to talk with police. Sometimes it may be in your favor to talk with the police. You also don’t have to submit to a search, to either your person or your vehicle (this also includes your backpack, purse, etc.). If the police have the right to search, they generally won’t ask permission. If you refuse, it’s not a crime. They will then have to have legal reason to perform the search.

Which type of bankruptcy is best for me?

It depends. The most common bankruptcy for individuals are Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. Which one is best depends on your individual situation. Factors are: income, expenses, home ownership, vehicles, etc.

What does it mean to “fund your trust”?

Funding your trust simply means moving assets under the umbrella of the trust. This can be your home, vehicles, saving accounts, etc.
